Description
The Lake District, Cumbria, UK became a World Heritage Site in July 2017, joining other iconic locations across the world as a place of international acclaim. Blea Tarn is located in Langdale, ‘Long Valley’ in old Norse, a central Lake District location, and the distinctive skyline of the Langdale Pikes dominates the valley, being seen for many miles from the south and east. Blea Tarn is a highlight of the valley for many. The photograph was taken in November so has nice autumnal colours, and shows the Langdale Pikes in the background. Luckily, there was little wind blowing on the day, which gave a nice reflection in the water.
