Northumberland is a county located in north east England, UK, and its coastal region is designated a National Park. This photograph shows Dunstanburgh Castle at sunrise, located between Embleton Bay and the village of Craster. The castle was built in the 14th century but now is just a ruin, although the Lilburn Tower in the photograph is still largely intact.

He became interested in photography during his teenage years after purchasing a Zenith fully manual SLR camera in the 1970s, primarily doing black and white work, developing his own films and producing prints in a makeshift darkroom in his parents bathroom! His first published print was in 1978 for an edition of Ashai Pentax Photography magazine, featuring a portrait of an elderly man.
