About Philip Preston

Philip Preston PHOTOGRAPHY | PHOTOART | DIGITALART | HOME DECOR PATTERNS.

Philip Preston is a self taught photographer and digital artist. He became interested in photography during his teenage years after purchasing a Zenith fully manual SLR camera in the 1970s, primarily doing black and white work, developing his own films and producing prints in a makeshift darkroom in his parents bathroom! His first published print was some years later in a 1978 edition of Ashai Pentax Photography magazine, featuring a portrait of a photogenic elderly man. Since then, his photography has continued over the years as a leisure interest, and his work has been published in a variety of UK photography magazines: namely Practical Photography, Camera Weekly, Photography, Digital Photo, Digital Photo User, Digital Photography and What Digital Camera. He has been a contributor to UK stock photo agency Alamy for about 20 years during which time his images have been licenced for use both in the UK and other countries around the world, including national newspapers, editorial websites, other websites, commercial electronic, magazines, books, calendars, museums, newsletters, and personal use.

In the last few years Philip has developed a strong interest in digital art, initially using computer programs for use with photographs, and more recently software with Artificial Intelligence (AI) components and AI text to image generators. His recent and current non-photographic artworks are a fusion of Stable Diffusion and Studio Artist, using Stable Diffusion to create base images which are subsequently enhanced with Studio Artist to produce unique artworks offering something a little different to other artists using AI technologies,

Philips Fine Art America store contains a mix of photography and digital art. His photography mostly features traditional subject matter such as landscapes, cityscapes and architecture, while his digital artworks tend to be more abstract, often with vivid colours. And with a portfolio approaching 2000 images, there is plenty to choose from. Additionally, a number of geometric designs specifically for products like tote bags and cushions are also available.
