A photograph by Philip Preston of the Frankfurt skyline. Frankfurt, officially known as Frankfurt Am Main, is the largest city of the German federal state of Hesse, and the fifth largest city population wise in Germany. Frankfurt is a global hub for commerce, culture, education, tourism and transportation, and is the site of many global and European corporate headquarters, hence the prominent architectural skyline in this photograph.

He became interested in photography during his teenage years after purchasing a Zenith fully manual SLR camera in the 1970s, primarily doing black and white work, developing his own films and producing prints in a makeshift darkroom in his parents bathroom! His first published print was in a 1978 edition of Ashai Pentax Photography magazine, featuring a portrait of a photogenic elderly man.
